Every year Highland has a 4th of July parade but to be honest I'm not a huge fan of parades... but this year we ventured out to see if Addy would enjoy it and boy did she!!
Here she is with her Grandpa pointing and talking to the trucks driving by.
Addy has a special affection for her Uncle DD. One of the games they play together is putting Uncle DD's hat on and off of him. You can see she's enjoying it!

Addy and her cousin Ajai watching the parade go by. Ajai made out like a candy bandit!
How could she not enjoy it when she got her first taste of cotton candy?
Grandma was worried the fire engines were too loud for little Addy's ears so here is a picture of her covering one ear while Auntie Donna covered the other one.
Not too long after the parade started it POURED rain. Addy got pretty wet but it cleared up right away. Here she is looking confused about the rain and all the activity.
I couldn't get many shots of her smiling but she was pointing, laughing and yelling at the fire trucks as they went by.

She's just pointing in this picture but doesn't it look like she's signing "I love you?" Let's all just pretend :) Love you too peanut!

Looks like y'all had a great time! My kiddos LOVED the parade too (in Homewood)....
I *thought* Joshua had only eaten 2 pieces of candy, but apparently Grandma gave him a few more, and I have NEVER seen him SO HYPER!!!!!!! It was insane!!! Made me remember why we dont usually do candy at all! hehe. Hopefully at Addy's age, she could enjoy the parade and not care if she got any candy or not. :)
I love the picture of Grandma (I don't remember her first name) and Donna's hands holding her ears. They look like the same hands....I guess a mother of twins would notice that.
ahhhh memories. Too cute. It looks like all the adults got swept up in Addy's excitement too. : ) The first picture of Addy the caption should read "Ahh-yeah. Rock on!"
AH Mich it looks like you guys had such fun. Even if it rained. Happy 4th
priya was sitting on my shoulders and she jumped when she heard the first siren, but then she was ok after that. we checked out the highland festival, and priya's favorite thing was munching on a corn.
AWWWW! It really does look like she is signing "I Love You". That is so cute!
michelle that picture of her with uncle oogie is so cute! hahaha it's funny that oogie is his self declared name as he shared with us last week.
