Atlanta and the Splash Pad

Here's a picture of my sister and I in Atlanta for her bachelorette party.

Kathy & I took the kids to the splash pad last week. Here are some pictures:

Addy did not like the wristband. But, since they started charging to get in this year they're a must have if you don't want to pay twice!

Here is the only picture of Connor & Addy I could manage. Connor was much bolder than Addy in the water.

Addy took a liking to this little boy.... the feeling wasn't mutual. He kept saying "No baby. No."

At this point Addy was over the splash pad.

She began investigating Abigail.

And then communicated that she was overdue for her nap.

Swimming!

We put up the little pool that I got at a garage sale last year and Addy wasn't too sure about it. When I put her feet in she cried and cried and then just sat there evaluating whether or not she liked it.
Curiosity got the best of her and she eventually reached down to play a bit.

But her hesitancy only waned when Daddy got in with her.

Here's Johnny doing one of the many games with Addy that I'm physically unable to do right now!!

Finally, here she is on the loose before I was able to get her inside but after removing her wet clothes!!

sweet addy

Here's Addy at Axis.... stealing the show of course. She has a thing for the microphone.
How could you not steal the show with eyes like that??

This is me (the very large one on the right) with my small group & Addy.

I wouldn't say this was my most photogenic moment (above or below) but here's a shot of Addy & I at Axis.

I took Addy to a baby shower that ran over an hour past her bedtime. She decided to lounge out on the steps.

Addy & Daddy outside.

Addy & I outside.

These cars are awesome. Its definitely Addy's favorite toy and keeps her occupied forever!

That's it for now!

my crazy porcupine

This video isn't quite as bright or clear but for those of you who enjoyed the last giggle monster video here's its sequel. Perhaps not quite as cute as the original but sequels never are. :)

These pictures are so classic, aren't they? What kid do you know that hasn't, at some point in their life, fallen asleep with their bottom straight up in the air? Addy has officially joined their ranks!

The sunglasses.

Recently Addy has taken a liking to balls. Footballs, baseballs, bouncy balls, you name it. Unfortunately, her favorite one often winds up underneath furniture. She knows how to get it but her little arms aren't always long enough. Here she is asking me to get it out for her. (The asking consists of grunts, screams, whines and pointing.) :)

i missed my girl!

Well, I left Adeline for the weekend foor the first time ever and I guarantee I missed her more than she missed me! When I walked in the door to come pick her up she just looked at me and went back to playing with her toys. So, my hopes for an excited giggle and a little girl running to my open, waiting arms went down the drains... but that doesn't mean I haven't kissed her a thousand times since! I was in Atlanta with my sister for her bachelorette party. It was so nice being with her for the weekend and we even got a couple of small things done for the wedding!

Here are some of my favorite recent pictures of Adeline.

She's a smart eater.... my mom has been "encouraging" me to feed her smaller pieces of food but she's too smart for that. The other day I was at Johnny's parent's house and his mom had some leftover roast beef... a pretty thick piece of it. SOOO, in an attempt to honor my mom I began cutting up the beef into smaller pieces than I normally would. I began by cutting a small part off of the large piece and going from there. However, when I looked up, satisfied with the small pieces of meat I had worked hard to prepare, Addy had reached over, opened the baggie with the large hunk of meat and was gnawing happily on it. We couldn't get it away from her, the stinker. So, I gave up, defeated, and about 15 minutes later she had eaten the entire piece of meat.... except for the small pieces I had cut!

Here she is doing the same thing with an orange. While I was peeling apart slices she quickly grabbed the orange and went to town.

da zoo

Well, we finally did it. We took our growling, animal loving little gal to the zoo... and not just any old zoo! Only the best for our little girl. So, this morning we trekked out to Brookfieldwith Grandma Hamstra and Johnny.... and the napless peanut thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. Here she with Grandma Hamstra all decked out in her matching accessories...

What's a little hat and sunglasses when you could have a giant shirt and tie? Bigger is so much better.

The petting zoo was clearly her favorite. She wasn't scared of the little goats at all... but she was very hesitant to touch them. She'd go to pet them and get an inch away from their fur and stand there. But, several times she was in the center of three or four large goats and she just looked at them.

At some point I'd like to put a short video clip of her petting the cow. She was a bit violent and sporatic with her pets but Mr. Cow didn't seem to mind.

After the hat and sunglasses went the shoes went too and she explored this little splash pond.

The monkeys were one of her favorite exhibits. I think because they move around so much. It was the most action we saw all day. Here she is pointing at them... and for those of you who know her well you know the growls followed shortly after!

The hot sun and excessive stimulation wore her out. Here she is lounging in her stroller... kicking back and having a cold one. She fell asleep within minutes of leaving the zoo a little over three hours later.

Johnny gave in and bought a family pass so we'll be back!!
